I LIKE...

Now that I am deeply immersed into my countryside beat, I am trying to increase my line-up of outdoor gear and accessories. While not necessarily "rugged", I feel that these watches would be a great way to accent my usually drab outdoor get-up...The Too Late line of watches are comprised of waterproof, rubber and colorful pieces of wrist candy. With 15 colors to choose from, these watches are ultralite and come packaged in a unique plastic jar. Nice to have or to give away!

And where can we get them? Only from the accessory haven which boasts of an interesting collection of fashion jewelry made of semi precious stones and even
loose diamonds--ACCESSORY LAB!

SEEING RED

Given the increasing number of beats that I have to cover for the rest of the year, I am seriously considering a netbook upgrade. Apart from the wide array of reliable and high-capacity memory and ddr2 devices I can avail of from memoryamerica, this byootiful red number beckons...Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM, 80GB HD, Intel GMA950, WiFi and optional Bluetooth, 10.1 inch screen (1024×576 pixels), 2-in-1 card reader, 3-cell battery--how can one go wrong with what is dubbed as the the world's first digital clutch by award-winning designer Vivienne Tam? I want.

GOTTA BELIEVE IN MAGIC

Introducing, the thumb-thumbing first android phone in the Philippines... HTC Country Manager Mark Sergio officially announced that the HTC Magic, the first Android-powered mobile phone in the Philippines, will be available exclusively through Smart Gold, the postpaid brand of leading wireless services provider Smart Communications, Inc.(SMART).

SMART and HTC Corporation will be launching HTC Magic very soon. The HTC Magic is the first of its kind to be introduced in the Philippines. The smartphone is equipped with the Android operating system, and is supported by SMART’s HSDPA network, the widest in the country.

Now the question is, do I avail of that savvy
PS3 which the Haligi has been dying to have for so long, or should I make room in my budget for this instead?

WILL SOMEONE GIVE THIS TO ME FOR PRE?

After laying my old Treo to rest many moons ago, I still have not found a worthy replacement. Methinks the new Palm Pre rocks. And since it ain't available in Pinas yet, I still have enough time to decide whether to get one for myself, or to get one of those wholesale computers to benefit the entire family.

OUR LATEST PICKS

One hot summer night, when my son and I hopped over to a neighborhood convenience store, we discovered these...Oishi's new Gourmet Picks line piqued our curiosity alright, that we didn't mind shelling out a few more pesos more than the usual cost of our favorite snacks. Later on, I found out that the add-on of the convenience store was actually over ten bucks per pack--nyiii!!.

Anyway, curiosity did not kill THIS cat. We've been munching on these almost every night that I am almost positive I would be needing those fat burners soon. We just love, love, love all three flavors.

Natural Sea Salt
Kimchi
and our favorite, Wasabi and Nori Flakes
Made of premium potatoes, all three flavors of this Oishi line pop, and boy oh boy how! You get the same salty, tangy, zesty flavors of the premium Frito Lay line, at just a fraction of the price. Best of all, it has NO MSG and is Filipino made! Another clear winner from Oishi!

A DIFFERENT GIG

For almost five years now, I have been trying (in vain) to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. To tell you frankly, I am almost losing hope, that if it hadn't been for a recent medical condition, I would've already given up this fight against flab. Hehehe!

Some friends are swearing by this diet pill that works. I am still having second thoughts though, giving my current medical condition. In the meantime, I would like to give this a try...

It's gonna be my first, if ever. Care to join me?

TIM'S TOP TEN

I am a self-confessed Bravo TV whore.

Last night, while watching a rerun of Tim Gunn's Guide to Style, I was given a refresher on his Ten Essential Wardrobe Pieces. According to Gunn, the said shopping list, comprised of basic, classic, practical pieces, will provide good foundation for any woman's closet.

So here's my take...

  1. Basic Black Dress, often called the "Little Black Dress." Gunn says it is unbeatable.
  2. Trench Coat, while not really ideal for Pinas climate, is both classic and is currently a hot fashion item. Most any store sells this piece now. It is great for cold weather and can be worn in varying lengths.

  3. Dress Pants. Whether in black, navy, charcoal or chocolate, a wool or silk pant that falls straight from the widest part of your hip is a wardrobe must. Go for black as it is flattering on all figures and goes with everything.

  4. Versatile Skirt. Look for a skirt that looks best on your body and offers more options in your wardrobe. The basic skirt that can be both flirty and business-like is a must-have.

  5. Fitted Blazer. Tim Says: "No single item of apparel dresses up a look better than a blazer. Find one with a proper, fitted shape.

  6. Classic White Shirt. Find one, whether in a classic or trendy cut, that accentuates your best attributes and minimizes trouble spots. Whether paired with dress pants, a skirt, or jeans, this item is always polished and sophisticated.

  7. Perfect Fit Jeans. Find a pair you look great in, that can look well for both work and play.

  8. Day Dress. Thanks to the stylish, Michelle Obama, those day dresses are taking centerstage again. Don't reserve dresses only for night time.

  9. Cashmere Sweater. Think layering. Wear with the perfect pair jeans, with your classic white shirt, or your versatile skirt.

  10. Sweatsuit Alternative. It is possible to be casual and comfortable without looking like a slob. Ditch those tracksuits and sweats and find an alternative piece like a kaftan or cotton dress that you would want to wear everyday.

PLANNING THE PLANNER

While planner season is still months away, I have been kept busy with my search for the perfect planner. The results, I hope, would provide great inspiration for our corporate giveaways.

I am currently liking the planners at Author's Avenue...From the tinseltown designers--Mylene Dizon and Erika Fife, who brought us those funky laptop bags on display at Powermac stores all over the metropolis, comes this exquisite line of handmade journals, planners, card and passport holders.

Definitely worth considering, and a great complement to my yearly Starbucks default planner :)
