THE GHOST IN YOU

Those pulse oximeters would've detected a slight rise in my blood pressure upon seeing these on sale at Adora...Officially known as the D&G Lily Ghost, the bags measure 35 cm by 25 cm by 27 cm and retail for about P29,000++ a pop. Thanks to Adora, they now go for as low as P19,000++ a piece. Weeee!!!

That's really a steal, given its leather handles and hanging key tag, and its very own padlock. The canvas body is large and roomy--perfect for an easy-going lifestyle.

READY FOR RAIN

I am so glad that our family activities have gone beyond the usual trips to the mall and church. We've discovered, while a wee bit late into the game, the love for running. It has improved the Haligi's health by leaps and bounds, and it is beginning to shape mine as well.

So much is my husband's love for running that, despite that last run in the rain, the Haligi was crazy enough to register not just for one, but for two runs this coming July. And with my last inspiring finish, I was all too eager to join him. Of course our son, the Haligilet, won't be far behind.Care to join us?

OK KA BA DIYANNN?

Unlike most women, I never got fascinated with jewelry. My humble collection mainly consists of a handful of pearl pieces and some precious stones. I never realized the value of investing in gold, silver and other precious metals until well into adulthood. An interesting site, usgoldbureau.com, taught me the value of these investments so much so I am almost convinced to go out and buy gold coins right this minute. Uh-oh!

Speaking of precious things, the only thing my friends and I considered as "treasures" while growing up were those all too familiar plastic bottles filled with that sweet, tangy, creamy drink. Through our child eyes, being in possession of loads of Yakult was wealth in itself. Of course, things are a lot different now. My buddies and I will take gold, silver, coins and precious metals over Yakult, anytime. Hehe.

Anyhoo, I bet my contemporaries on every corner of the metropolis are having a ball with a recent announcement posted over at Facebook. I am positive that you and your lactobacilli shirota strains will be jumping up for joy as Sebastian's Ice Cream brings you this...Beginning June 24, all Sebastian's Ice Cream outlets will be dispensing your favorite tangy-sweet delight in scoopable, spoonable form! Hurry as this offer will be for a limited time only.

No need to put those Yakult bottles into the freezer. This is undeniably and literally...cool!!!

WHY MUST YOU BE SO PRETTY?

To a problogger, ratings from Google, Technorati, Alexa are of ultimate signficance. Honestly though, I have never really paid great attention to all these, which is the main reason why my blog ratings have been on a standstill ever since.

But there is one particular Alexa that I have paid complete attention to, so much so, that I've been living, breathing, dreaming about it for days now...
Named after British VJ, Alexa Chung, the hip and young Mulberry Alexa Satchel marries the elements of sense and style, P.E.R.F.E.C.T.L.Y. With its top handle, detachable shoulder strap, fold-over flap, fastening tabs, inner pockets and THE perfect slouch, it would make a great "harabas" bag. But since it has the chewy-est, gorgy-est leather that I have seen evarrr, I have to say that it would make a great "porma" bagelya as well.

I know it would be impossible to own another female-named handbag (the Kelly) in this lifetime, so I have decided to set my sights on a more accessible, but equally desirable option. Oh if only it would be that easy to get my hands on one. I hear that it is out of stock worldwide. Not even the best detectives nor security cameras could probably track one down. Boohoo!

While it looks a lot like its slouchy predecessors--the YSL Muse Two (which comes sans the shoulder straps) and the Proenza Schouler PS1, I find that the Alexa Satchel more suitable for my lifestyle and my personality. The Purse Blog couldn't have said it any better--"it's casual without being sloppy, and chic without being trendy." Oh Alexa, please find ME. :D

I am dreaming of one in oak. What about you? Sigh. Drool. Sigh. Drool.

CLOSE CALL

Phew! Now, that was close. You see, we almost didn't make it to the registration deadline of this helluva running event...Rock concert + running event = ROCK and RUN!

On June 19th, this landmark run will bring together the country's hottest bands such as The Dawn, Kjwan, Taken By Cars, Brigada, Techyromantics, Coffee Break Island and many more. And what sets this apart from the other runs that we've joined in the past, is that it will take place in the evening. Yebah!

A recent health scare made me focus bigtime on my well-being. I am not getting any younger, and I am so not looking forward to the day that I may need a Mesothelioma lawyer. So, mark my words folks, papayat din ako. Hihi. You have until today, June 13th, to join me in this great event.

Get your singlets and running shoes ready. See you Saturday night!

DRESS YOUR FEET

I so love making the Haligilet look like a little man. Call me weird but I don't think I ever bought my son clothes that had mascots or cartoon characters on them.

The same goes for shoes. I loved buying him Chucks, Supergas, Vans sneaks and Sanuks. And now, I discovered something to add to his shoe collection (mainly because I was too kuripot to get him a pair of Tom's! :D). Meet the cutie patootie Mini Paez...
Aside from their kick-butt designs, Paez shoes stretch to the mold of the individual's feet (call it built-in wrinkle fillers if you will), assuring you of utmost comfort and wearability.

Now I want a pair of my own!!!

iHEART iCHEF

My recent annual medical employment screening was a disaster. Suffice it to say that the only thing normal or healthy in my body were my eyes and my teeth. All the rest--every vein, every cell, every organ, failed miserably in the tests administered. It was a wake up call indeed.

And it was for this reason, and the referral of my good friend Q, that my journey to lifestyle modification began. I put all my shopping sprees on hold and took a leap of faith. I signed up for Chef A's Eat Smart Meal Plan. And I tell you no lie. I have lost a total of 10 lbs already!!!

I am so inspired with my weight loss that I plan to make this a regular thing (say one cycle a month?) and will complement it with kickass exercise. Oh, and I've been regularly taking the stairs to get to our 8th floor office too! Weeee!!!

So if you're interested to have the same life-changing experience as mine, do send me a PM so I can hook you up with Chef A.

I think I can. I think i can. I think I can.

FOR HIM

Exactly seven days from now, the world will be paying tribute to the pillars of strength of every family--fathers.

Now, I may not have enough money to buy the Haligi gold coins, but I am still hoping that he will consider the gift I have chosen for him, a treasure. You see, I plan to get him one of these...Power Balance wristbands contain holograms embedded with frequencies that react positively with your body’s natural energy field. When the hologram comes in contact with the body’s energy field, it allows the body to interact with the natural, beneficial frequency stored within the hologram. This results in improved energy flow throughout one's body.

Since the Haligi has been putting a premium on his health lately, I am positive that he would like this.

How about you, what Father's Day gifts have you got up your sleeves?

Power Balance Wristbands are available at all Health and Beyond Stores.

HAAAY...HAI SHIN LOU

I'm so glad that we're covered by term life insurance, because I'm pretty sure that after today's calorific lunch (read as: oilfest) at Hai Shin Lou, I may just drop dead anytime (knock on wood).

This is my second visit to this Chinese restaurant and it never disappoints. This is probably the reason why I've been hearing nothing but positive reviews of the place. After all, food is delicious, generous, consistent and worth all the money spent. Let these pictures do the talking. Am so looking to the next Hai Shin Lou visit!
